At the beginning of the Summer term, students returned to classes in a hybrid format, respecting permitted capacities and health and safety protocols.

At the beginning of the Summer Quarter, EGADE Business School students returned to classes in a hybrid format, experiencing personal interaction for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Implemented under the  Tec HyFlex+ model, the hybrid format enables professors to teach their courses with reduced in-person attendance and following health and safety protocols. Some of the students are present in the classroom, and others are connected remotely, taking advantage of the available digital resources.

Classes started on July 19 and, mainly during the second week of the Summer term, EGADE students attended the Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara sites, and the campus in Querétaro, following the guidelines of Tecnológico de Monterrey's Conscious Return.

Temperatures were taken as students entered the facilities, and they were asked to use face masks, apply antibacterial gel, and show their green status in the SAP Fiori Client app, in which they had answered self-diagnosis questions.

The students were greeted with an EGADE LiFE activation, through which they were able to win prizes and take photos with Teus, Tec's official mascot.

The students shared their feelings about the hybrid classes and the gradual return to the facilities:

"I'm so excited. I hadn't seen the facilities; they are first class. I love getting together and having a more personal interaction with my classmates and teachers," said Gabriela Vargas Ayala, a student of the Full-Time MBA in Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

"The hybrid format is a real challenge, worthy of admiration for both teachers and students, but that is what the entrepreneurial spirit is all about: adapting to change and looking to the future," said Mariela Tamez Cavazos, an EGADE MBA student in Monterrey.

"I liked being able to attend class. I felt very safe because of the measures that had been implemented for us to enter campus. In general, the entire experience is excellent; let's hope more classmates decide to participate," expressed Jesús Miguel Anzaldo Alcorn, student of the Master in Business Management in Guadalajara.

Students returned to classroom and hybrid academic activities on a totally voluntary basis.

The gradual return to in-person activities was also experienced in the EGADE Graduation Ceremonies held in Monterrey, Ciudad de México, and Guadalajara between June 30 and July 7.

Additionally, on July 9, the first hybrid event took place at the EGADE main campus in Monterrey.
