Tecnológico de Monterrey and IBM announced an agreement today to incorporate the IBM Skills Academy program into the Master in Business Analytics curriculum at EGADE Business School.

The first generation of this graduate program commenced in April this year. The IBM program will ensure that the professionals enrolled in this master’s degree will develop skills to understand and capitalize on new technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, Cybersecurity, IoT, and Data Science.

The relevance of the partnership between IBM and Tec de Monterrey is accentuated in the current scenario. A study conducted by the IBM Institute of Business Value found that up to 120 million collaborators surveyed in the 12 largest economies in the world may need to be retrained or reeducated owing to the growth of AI and automation over the next three years, resulting from the accelerated technology development that companies are experiencing worldwide.

The challenge, according to the same investigation, has only been exacerbated during the pandemic, to the extent that C-Suite executives who have accelerated digital transformation in their organizations report that their teams’ lack of technological skills is one of the greatest obstacles to progress in the current and future business context.

“For us at IBM, working in conjunction with highly prestigious educational institutions, such as EGADE Business School - Tecnológico de Monterrey, is key to continuing to contribute to the preparation of new generations of transformational leaders for business and in society,” commented Eduardo Gutiérrez, President and CEO of IBM México.

“The future of organizations will depend on the transformation of processes, products, services, culture, structure, and business models, to generate greater innovation and value for clients. With the incorporation of the IBM Skills Academy program into the Master in Business Analytics, we seek to consolidate our purpose of developing omnipreneurial leaders with a comprehensive business vision and the necessary competencies to transform their organizations and contribute with innovative solutions to the challenges faced by society,” commented Osmar Zavaleta, Interim Dean of EGADE Business School - Tecnológico de Monterrey.

With this agreement, Master in Business Analytics students have access to the IBM Skills Academy digital platform, which presents laboratories, conferences, and practical industry cases focused on solving real business problems, among other types of content that provide access to digital badges that are highly valued in the labor market and enjoy global recognition.

The IBM Skills Academy offers the Master in Business Analytics faculty diverse training programs based on the "Train-the-Trainer" (T3) methodology, run by IBM experts, to maximize their impact and benefit students focused on developing the skills required to cope with the changes currently being experienced by industries with emerging and open-source technologies.

EGADE Business School’s two-year Master in Business Analytics program, taught in Spanish, develops a disruptive mentality in students based on data science and leadership competencies to accelerate digital transformation and make better use of organizations’ opportunities in the growing global digital economy.

IBM Skills Academy is an educational project that provides content, dynamics and programs to build students’ most critical technological skills, enabling them to contribute with their professional preparation. The initiative focuses on emergent digital fields, such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, blockchain, cloud, IoT, Design Thinking, and Quantum.
