Woxsen University, in Hyderabad, India, established the Chair Professorship Carlos Scheel Professor of Circular Economy and Sustainable Innovation, as a tribute to his professional journey, contributions and leadership in his field of study.
Scheel is an emeritus professor of EGADE Business School - Tecnológico de Monterrey and leader of the research group that created the award-winning SWIT model (Sustainable Wealth Creation Based on Innovation and Technology).

The Woxsen University Carlos Scheel Chair Professorship, led by Dr. P. Swami Sairam, key initiatives include the creation of a Think Tank focused on developing a circular economy ecosystem for India’s metropolitan cities.
Within the framework of this recognition, Scheel recently visited the Indian institution where he offered sessions on circular economy for professors and MBA students, and witnessed the presentation of posters as part of the James Stoner Sustainability Competition.
