“In many industries, data are key to survival,” stated Desmond Mullarkey, President and CEO of SAP México.

In the webinar “Data and decisions: The impact of analytics on business transformation,” the executive explained that the pandemic changed consumption habits and, therefore, nowadays not only data are more important than ever, but also companies’ capacity to analyze them in real time.

“If an establishment does not have the product I’m looking for and cannot offer me an alternative, I’ll go elsewhere. But if it combines data analytics with artificial intelligence to predict what I need, then it will win my lifelong loyalty,” he explained.

Mullarkey participated in the EGADE Future Forum series, discussing the value of data and the challenges companies face in managing them with Ignacio de la Vega, Dean of EGADE Business School and the Undergraduate Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

“We spent many years analyzing data to make decisions, but, today, analyzing them in real time is essential and urgent; the existence and future of many companies depend on this sort of data architecture,” he said.

The webinar was held as part of the launch of the new Master in Business Analytics, in which students develop a disruptive mindset based on data analytics to maximize their companies’ results and provide them with a competitive advantage in the growing digital economy.
