The teaching and knowledge areas of Jorge Martinez include financial engineering, byproducts, financial economy, and international economy. Throughout his career, he has been speaker in more than 300 seminars in South America, Mexico, United States, and Europe. He is the author of more than 30 academic publications in international journals and series of working papers. He is also an editor of El Norte writing the monthly column “Riesgo y Valor” (Risk and Value).
In the corporate field, he serves as an independent advisor of Banco del Bajio and Afore Afirme Bajio. Previously, he has served as Director of Integral Risk Management, Legal and Quality in Banorte-Generali, Financial Group Banorte, and also as head economist in Cemex Latam. He also has the financial certification as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and he is President of the CFA Monterrey company’s chapter.
Abroad, he has stood out in the academic field as instructor in the New York Institute of Finance, the Chilean University Adolfo Ibañez in Miami and as guest professor of Baylor University, University of Texas at Austin, (USA), École Superiour Du Commerce Du Paris (France), Universidad EAFIT in Madrid and Colombia. He has been invited several times to CNN Money Miami and New York since 2015.
Jorge is partner and founder of the advisory company MG-RISK Counseling Associates since 1998, giving service to more than 40 companies in Mexico and abroad in topics of investment banking, statistical studies, economy, and finance.
