Thank you for these years of growth, learning and success. We continue together.

January 22, 2021.- Dear and esteemed members of the EGADE Community, as many of you will be aware, from 1st February, I will take up the role of Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, Faculty, and Internationalization at our institution. This is an exciting new leadership challenge and a testament of recognition to each of you and your teams for the achievements of the recent years at EGADE. I look forward with enthusiasm to serving our wider university community and our accelerating institutional transformation.

As I conclude my term as dean at EGADE and our Undergraduate School of Business, I am filled with immense gratitude for what has truly been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my professional life. Over the last three and a half years, I have been humbled to serve the EGADE family - our talented and dedicated students, faculty, alumni, collaborators, advisory board members, business and academic partners - whose energy and commitment have propelled forward our shared EGADE aspirations and priorities, above all in the highly challenging past year, where the agility and resourcefulness of our community shone through and continues to shine.

Working together with a shared purpose, we have transformed our EGADE culture with a daring vision and collaboration based on trust, transparency, empathy and empowerment. This has enabled us to quickly recast our learning model and pedagogy, build a new and innovative academic portfolio, reshape our executive and lifelong learning programs, attract outstanding students from Mexico and internationally, grow the engagement of our alumni, and enhance our already solid faculty, who have also developed groundbreaking research and insights that enable industry and leadership better navigate the turbulence and uncertainty at the dawn of this new decade. We have celebrated the many achievements of our students, alumni, faculty, and the wider community, expanded our international reach, further enhancing our reputation and impact in global rankings and accreditations.

Above all, we have been committed to our vision to prepare leaders and organizations that generate shared value and prosperity and transform society. We remain dedicated to developing conscious leaders who are committed to building and sustaining a better future, to creating more opportunities for those who see none, fostering unity instead of discord, resetting the model for trusted capitalism, and above all improving the quality of life for people in Mexico and across the world.

I will forever be indebted to everyone in the EGADE family who has supported me, personally and professionally, throughout my time as dean. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to work with you all and to learn from you. The inspiration that I draw from your admirable dedication and passion for your vocation renews my faith in the transformative power of education, and will continue to motivate me as I assume my new responsibilities.

We have traced a path together and I am certain that many new achievements lie on the road ahead. I know you will show enormous support and encouragement to our new Interim Dean of EGADE, Osmar Zavaleta Vázquez, whom I sincerely thank for accepting this opportunity and wish tremendous success.

I look forward to continuing our work together during the transition and beyond, and remain committed to ensuring that the tremendous momentum at EGADE continues as we embark on an exciting new phase of transformation at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Warmly yours,

Ignacio de la Vega
