The episode "Self-Leadership: Transform Yourself From the Inside Out" in the ninth season of the Territorio Negocios podcast focused on the keys to self-leadership and its impact on organizational transformation.

Hosted by Eva Guerra, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at EGADE Business School, episode 168 featured Brenda Rodríguez, Director of Global Services for Nissan in the Americas, and Juan Enciso, Director of the EGADE - W. P. Carey Executive MBA and Academic Leader of the Senior Management Program in Executive Education at EGADE Business School.

In today’s challenging business world, emotional intelligence is as important as technical knowledge; transformational leaders must emphasize personal development and self-awareness to inspire their teams and positively impact their organizations.

Rodríguez and Enciso provided deep insights into how self-leadership is fundamental for any successful organizational transformation.

Rodríguez states, "Personal leadership is the foundation of any organizational transformation."

She shared that when she faced a critical stage in her career at Nissan, she began to focus on her personal development, emphasizing that the process of self-criticism and openness to personal change are essential for leading effective transformations in any organization.

For his part, Enciso pointed out that transformational leadership is an ongoing process and that leaders must constantly adapt and learn.

He explained that transformational leaders understand the context in which their organizations operate and translate external demands into significant internal changes.

"Such leaders have vision, inspire, are empathetic, and are examples of adaptability," Enciso continued, highlighting the importance of emotional intelligence in the entire process.

Rodríguez also emphasized the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being in the workplace.

He added, "The balance between work demands and well-being is crucial for successful organizational transformation."

Regarding recommendations for current and future leaders, Enciso highlighted the importance of breaking down communication barriers within organizations and fostering an environment where ideas are welcomed and heard.

Rodríguez complemented this by underscoring the relevance of having a clear vision and the ability to inspire teams and promote an environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

The episode concluded by emphasizing that self-leadership and personal well-being are essential to positively influence teams and lead organizations toward constant change and continuous improvement.
