EGADE Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey brought together 14 students from 7 Global Network for Advanced Management member schools, in the October 2022 Global Network Week program.

In the international week, held from October 17 to 21, EGADE Business School offered, at its Santa Fe site in Mexico City, the module Strategic Innovation and Management in Emerging Markets: Latin America.

The multicultural group was made up of students who are nationals of nine different countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, USA, Guatemala, Mexico, New Zealand, and Singapore.

Their schools of origin are EGADE Business School, Escuela de Administración of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, FGV EAESP, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, UBC Sauder School of Business and Yale School of Management.

Throughout the week, participants explored subjects with a focus on Mexico and Latin America, such as innovation (in processes, brands, and corporations), business culture, protocol and etiquette, the economic and social outlook, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The sessions were delivered by EGADE Business School professors Fernando Moya, Eric Porras, Cristian Granados, Juan Carlos Rivera, Raúl Montalvo, Edgar Centeno, José Ernesto Amorós and Alfonso Avila.

Guest speakers in this module were Anna Nikina-Ruohonen, Global Visiting Professor at EGADE Business School, and Alfonso Becerra Cid, director of Strategy and Innovation in the Mexican Football Federation.

One of the highlights was The Spice Jar Challenge, a team activity in which the participants created salsas and then presented their products to the professors; travel writer Alicia Boy; Gerardo Delgado, executive chef at the hotel Parque México Boutique; and Elsa Frías, CEO of Banquetes Elsa Frías.

The group visited MCS Group Dubbing, dubbing, audio postproduction, and dialogue translation studios, as well as the pharmaceutical company Sanofi México.

Participants also enjoyed cultural activities, visiting the Teotihuacán archeological zone and the National Museum of Anthropology, with professor Valeria Sánchez serving as their guide, followed by a mezcal tasting session at the restaurant El Mexicano.

The October 2022 edition of the Global Network Week was the first to be held in person since the start of the pandemic in 2020.

In this same edition, a total of 41 EGADE Business School students participated in 14 modules offered in 11 countries by different member schools of the Global Network for Advanced Management.

In 2022, the Global Network for Advanced Management, which includes EGADE Business School as a founding member, is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
