EGADE Business School - Tecnológico de Monterrey, through the VIVA Idea Schmidheiny Chair in Sustainable Futures, promoted and actively participated in the INDEEP Latam PhD Academy Camp, held from September 4 to 6 in 4 Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica.

This camp brought together PhD students and scholars from diverse institutions to discuss innovative approaches to qualitative research, with particular attention to studying underserved communities in Latin America.

Participants included Olimpia Rosales Ledezma, PhD in Administrative Sciences student at EGADE Business School, who shared her experience:

“It was an excellent opportunity to receive personalized feedback on our research and qualitative methods. Moreover, visiting the Bribri Indigenous community allowed us to reflect on the importance of integrating different perspectives into our research,” she said.

The Viva Idea initiative, which INCAE Business School also backs, enjoyed the participation of outstanding research professors, such as Rajiv Maher and Felipe Symmes from EGADE Business School, who contributed their knowledge on the methodological challenges in researching marginalized communities.

Symmes is also the leader of the VIVA Idea Schmidheiny Chair in Sustainable Futures at EGADE Business School, which seeks to generate impact on sustainable development through research.

Events like this enable EGADE Business School to continue supporting the preparation of research leaders who, through their work, contribute not only to the international scientific community but also to the development of real solutions for the most vulnerable communities in Latin America.
