EGADE Professor Joins Steering Committee of Impact & Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium at Kellogg

The appointment of Carlos Vargas to the Consortium Steering Committee is a recognition of his dedication and excellence in the field of sustainable finance.

Carlos Vargas, Research Professor in the Department of Finance and Business Economics at EGADE Business School - Tecnológico de Monterrey, was invited to join the Steering Committee of the Impact & Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

The Consortium brings together and connects professors from around the world who teach and research in the field of impact investing and sustainable finance.

"I was invited to the Consortium Steering Committee, joining academic leaders of well-known institutions and leading more than 420 members, all academics, from more than 220 universities in over 40 countries," Vargas shared.

As the only member from Latin America, Professor Vargas joins the Steering Committee made up of:

  • Dave Chen (Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University)
  • Jaap Bos (European Center for Corporate Engagement, Maastricht University)
  • Shawn Cole (Harvard Business School, Harvard University)
  • Caroline Flammer (School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University)
  • Megan Kashner (Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University)
  • Meeta Kothare (McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin)
  • Lloyd Kurtz (Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University)
  • Hao Liang (Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University)
  • John Tobin-de la Puente (SC Johnson College of Business, Cornell University)

The appointment of Professor Vargas to the Consortium Steering Committee is a recognition of his dedication and excellence in the field of sustainable finance.

Professor Vargas is the academic leader of the Climate Governance for Directors and Senior Managers program of Executive Education at EGADE Business School.

In addition, he leads the participation of Tecnológico de Monterrey within the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment (GRASFI), an international network of leading universities in the field of research and education in sustainable finance and investment.
