Christiane Molina, professor of the Strategy and Leadership Department at EGADE Business School - Tecnológico de Monterrey, presented the opening remarks on digital impact discussion sessions at the 2023 PRME Global Forum in New York City.

As a member of the PRME Global Chapter Council, Molina spoke of the importance of leveraging digital platforms to promote responsible management education and encourage sustainable development.

The PRME Global Forum, held on June 13-14 and hosted by Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business, was a centerpiece for Responsible Management Education Week. With an exceptional lineup of purpose-driven speakers and a dynamic program, the forum aimed to drive the global debate on how business education can contribute to the sustainable development agenda.

Professor Molina initiated her remarks by asking a thought-provoking question: "Connecting for digital impact? What does it mean?"

She emphasized that the essence of digital impact lies in the relationships formed through shared emotions, interests, and concerns.

While technology remains a vital component, she argued that "digital" had acquired a new meaning since 2020, when the pandemic compelled the world to transition to a digital-centric lifestyle

Molina encouraged the audience to acknowledge the tremendous efforts made during that period and recognize the ongoing systemic transformation of education.

Molina further highlighted the role of digital platforms in democratizing access to quality knowledge and education.

She emphasized the importance of infusing the human touch into this digital revolution, where empathy plays a central role.

Also, she stressed the significance of building communities that enable scholars to communicate, share experiences and challenges, and ultimately learn and inspire one another.

She urged the audience to leverage the comfort they have gained with digital tools to seize the opportunities presented by the digital world and scale their impact.

The 2023 PRME Global Forum provided an opportunity to reflect on PRME's growth over the past year and centered its discussions on key themes such as pedagogy, climate, digital, and leadership. It was an especially significant event, marking the first in-person forum since 2017.

Professor Christiane Molina's participation in the PRME Global Forum exemplified the commitment of EGADE Business School and its faculty members to driving responsible management education and fostering sustainable development.
