This event, held on September 20 in Guatemala City, was attended by the President of the Republic, Bernardo Arévalo, and business leaders from Guatemala and the Central American region.

One of the participants was Horacio Arredondo, dean of EGADE Business School, who delivered the conference "When the next generation speaks, does anyone listen?" in the "Family Businesses" module.

His conference addressed the value of listening to the new generations when making decisions in family businesses, highlighting the importance of preparing these companies' futures through intergenerational dialogue.

Arredondo also moderated the panel "The vision of the new generations: A conversation with the future of companies," which included the participation of Estuardo Dougherty, Operational Excellence Manager of Grupo Progreso; Nicole De la Cerda, Head of Strategic Projects at Castillo Hermanos, and Inés Torrebiarte, Board Member of SUMITO Corp and Courban.

María Fonseca, director of Tecnológico de Monterrey's Institute for Enterprising Families, complemented this module with her conference "Generational Perspectives in the Family Business: exploring the Differences in Family, wealth and Society." In it, she highlighted the strengths and tensions between the mindsets, values, and non-negotiables of baby boomers, generation X, millennials, and Generation Z.

In addition, Eduardo Aguiñaga, national director of Full-Time Programs at EGADE Business School, participated in the "Sustainable Industry" module with the conference "Innovation towards a sustainable future: Integrated strategies in resource management – Circular Economy."

In his talk, Aguiñaga explored how the Circular Economy can transform business models towards sustainable growth.

The Industrial Congress brought together over 2,000 representatives from various business sectors in Guatemala. They participated in 10 thematic modules, such as "Energy," "Sustainable Industry," "Family Businesses," and "Business Integrity and Reputation."

The event also hosted the Industry Supplier Tradeshow, with over 50 stands, including one for EGADE Business School, where it presented its academic offering.

During this visit, Arredondo delivered an additional conference on September 19, "Organizational transformation: How to do business in the new era," at the Westin Camino Real Guatemala, targeting the country's professionals and executives.
