Salvador Ulises Cadena and Mauricio Graciano Palacios, students in the Doctorate in Financial Sciences (DCF) and Doctorate in Business Administration (DCA) programs, respectively, represented EGADE Business School with distinction in two key initiatives at Tecnológico de Monterrey, showcasing their leadership and academic excellence.
During the 2nd National Graduate Student Meeting of Tecnológico de Monterrey, held in May at the Mexico City campus, Cadena earned third place in the final stage of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, a challenge that tasks doctoral candidates with clearly, concisely, and convincingly presenting their research in just three minutes.
Cadena presented his thesis focused on developing a municipal-level financial inclusion index in Mexico, analyzing its relationship with other variables such as air pollution. His participation was recognized for its academic rigour and his ability to effectively communicate the potential impact of his research.
"Tec is a high-quality research institution, and promoting the dissemination of this knowledge is essential. I am very grateful for the invitation to participate and for EGADE’s support," said Cadena, who received his doctoral degree during the June 2025 Graduation Ceremony in Santa Fe.
For his part, Graciano, a DCA student, completed his participation in the third cohort of the Eugenio Garza Sada Global Leadership Program (EGSGLP), a leadership development lab for undergraduate and graduate students.
"It was a magnificent experience that I highly recommend. It allowed me to interact with students from different campuses and levels, connect with people full of initiative and commitment, and learn from inspiring leaders in various fields. This program goes beyond the curriculum and truly shapes better people and more conscious leaders," shared Graciano about his experience.
