EGADE at the 2022 INCmty Entrepreneurship Festival

Talks, conferences, panels, workshops and forums were offered by EGADE faculty, students and graduates, within the event organized by Tec de Monterrey.

EGADE Business School faculty, students and graduates participated as speakers at the tenth edition of INCmty 2022, the most important entrepreneurship festival in Latin America, organized by Tecnológico de Monterrey.

During the event, held from November 15 to 17 at the Cintermex convention center in Monterrey, ideas, opportunities and tools for the entrepreneurial community were presented in different talks, conferences, panels, workshops and forums.

Félix Cárdenas, director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, moderated a panel in which search funds and business acquisitions were discussed by experts in these topics.

In a conference, Carlos Dotor, director of the Innovative Entrepreneurship Zone at Tec Campus Toluca and Ph.D. in Administrative Sciences student at EGADE Business School, offered tips to drive family intrapreneurship.

Christian Salazar, Ph.D. in Administrative Sciences student at EGADE Business School and director of Social Entrepreneurship at Tec, recounted how the SME SOS program emerged, which, to date, has helped 800 SMEs with advice on digital inclusion within the framework of the crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, Fernando Padilla Ezeta, cofounder and CEO of Lendera Crowdfunding, and EGADE Business School MBA graduate, explained how to capitalize on leasing for company growth and development.

Jaime Rodríguez Himes, CEO of Merkauto.com and graduate of the Master in Marketing at EGADE Business School, shared how he went from 0 to 100 million by pursuing scalability with his nearly-new car dealership.

TERRITORIO NEGOCIOS

During INCmty, there were two special episodes of Territorio Negocios, the podcast of EGADE Business School and the Tec de Monterrey School of Business, reaching its 100th episode.

Horacio Arredondo, dean of EGADE Business School, served as guest host of the special episodes recorded in the TecSounds Podcast Room at the festival.

The Dean talked with Alejandro Preinfalk, CEO and president of Siemens for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, on digital enterprises and technology with purpose.

Arredondo then discussed the transition to sustainable business models with Ariana Gómez, founder and CEO of Technology for Impact.

Preinfalk and Gómez also participated as speakers within INCmty.

Both Territorio Negocios episodes are now available on Spotify, Amazon MusicApple Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

INC FAMILY FORUM AND EIIE

As part of the INC Family Forum 2022, Horacio Arredondo, dean of EGADE Business School, delivered a workshop on the creation of the family board in family businesses, at the Tec Campus Monterrey congress center.

The INC Family Forum, which brings together entrepreneurial families from Mexico and Latin America, is organized by Tec de Monterrey’s Entrepreneurial Family Institute (IFEM).

During the fifth International Conference on Research in Entrepreneurship (EiiE), also on the INCmty 2022 agenda, Felipe Symmes, research professor at EGADE Business School, moderated a panel on conscious entrepreneurship in the face of the huge challenges of the future.

Moreover, Ernesto Amorós, research professor and associate dean of Faculty at EGADE Business School, participated in the presentation of the results of the 2022 GUESSS México Report: Entrepreneurial Spirit of University Students.

One of the most outstanding findings was that 31% of university students aim to start up an enterprise upon completing their degree, a figure which increases to 57% up to five years after graduation.

Amorós is a member of the group of authors of the report produced by EGADE Business School and the Entrepreneurship Observatory of Tec de Monterrey’s Eugenio Garza Lagüera Entrepreneurship Institute.

The fifth edition of EiiE took place in the La Carreta Pavilion at Tec Campus Monterrey.
