The entity responsible for the personal information that you provide is Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (hereinafter “ITESM”), address Av. Eugenio Garza Sada Sur No. 2501, Colonia Tecnológico, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, C.P. 64849.

Personal information and sensitive personal information processed by ITESM

ITESM, as part of its records of prospective students, will collect and process personal identification data, personal contact data, personal academic data and, in some cases, employment data. Moreover, we should like to inform you that in order to comply with the primary and necessary purposes indicated herein, ITESM will not collect or process sensitive personal information. We should also like to inform you that ITESM can collect and process the personal identification data, personal contact data, personal academic data and personal employment data of your family members and/or third parties [1] with whom you have a relationship, either because they exercise their parental authority or they provide you with financial support in order to fulfill the primary and necessary purposes of the legal relationship established with you. Therefore, by providing the necessary personal information related to your family members and/or third parties, you acknowledge their consent for ITESM to process such personal information in order to fulfill the primary and necessary purposes indicated herein.

Primary purposes

ITESM will process your personal information in order to fulfill the following primary and necessary purposes:

• To contact you in order to offer our educational services.
• To follow up on your requests for information on the services we offer.
• To process invoices for the corresponding services.
• To administer admission exams. 
• To inform you of the results of your exams.

You cannot request ITESM to cease from processing your information for the aforementioned primary and necessary purposes, since such processing is necessary in order to fulfill the obligations derived from the relationship between you and ITESM.

Secondary purposes

In addition, if you become a student at ITESM, your personal information will form part of your academic records. However, if you do not become an ITESM student, ITESM will, if you agree, keep your personal information for the following purposes that are not necessary for the requested service, but will enable us to offer you the best possible assistance:

• To contact you later if possible.
• To send you promotional information on courses, diploma courses, seminars, symposiums, extraacademic workshops and events.
• To administer surveys and evaluations to improve the quality of the products and services we offer.
• To send you publicity and communications for marketing, telemarketing or financial campaign purposes.
• To use and divulge your personal image (photograph, video, etc.) to generate informative and promotional materials.

Refusal to permit the use of your personal information for additional purposes will not constitute a reason to deny you the services requested or to terminate the relationship established with us.

Transfers

In order to fulfill the aforementioned necessary purposes or any others required by law or the competent authorities, ITESM will only transfer the necessary information in the cases provided for by law and for which your consent is not required

ARCO rights and/or revocation of consent

You or your legal representative can exercise any of your rights of access, rectification, cancellation or opposition (hereinafter “ARCO rights”) and revoke your consent for the processing of your personal information by sending an email to the Department of Personal Information of ITESM to DATOSPERSONALES@ITESM.MX . Limitation and/or divulgation of your information

You can limit the use or divulgation of your personal information by sending your request to ITESM to the email DATOSPERSONALES@ITESM.MX . If your request is appropriate, you will be added to ITESM’s exclusion list.

Use of Cookies

We use cookies and other technologies on some of our webpages, which allows us to monitor your behavior as an Internet user and to provide you with a better service and experience on browsing our site. The personal information that can be obtained through the use of these technologies are: Identifiers, session username and password, region where you are located, type of browser, type of operating system, date and time of starting and finishing a session, webpages visited, searches completed and advertising reviewed. These technologies can be disabled by following the procedures of the internet browser being used.
