A total of 470 students received their academic degrees during the December 2019 EGADE Business School Graduation Ceremonies.
This new generation of transforming business leaders is comprised of 53 specialists, 407 masters and 10 doctors, from diverse cities of Mexico, as well as from Germany, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, U.S.A., France, India, Italy, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic, Taiwan, Uruguay and Venezuela.
On this occasion, students graduated from the following programs: 53 from the Specialization in Energy Management, 255 from the EGADE MBA, 21 from the Full-Time MBA in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, 18 from the MBA in Global Business & Strategy, 1 from the Master in Business Administration, 1 from the Master in International Business, 94 from the Master in Finance and 17 from the Master in Business Management, the latter are the first generation of this program.
In addition, 7 students from the PhD in Administrative Sciences and 3 from the PhD in Financial Sciences received their diplomas and institutional medals for the highest academic degree awarded by the School.
Graduation ceremonies for EGADE Business School students from Mexico City, Querétaro, Lima and Panama were held on December 11, in a joint event at Campus Santa Fe.
EGADE Business School students in Monterrey graduated on December 14 at their site, while their counterparts in Guadalajara enjoyed a graduation breakfast followed by a joint ceremony with Tec undergraduate students to receive their diplomas, on December 18, at the campus in that city.
In Mexico City and Monterrey, the ceremonies were presided over by Ignacio de la Vega, dean of EGADE Business School, as well as site directors and academic leaders.
David Garza, rector of Tecnológico de Monterrey, also participated in the Monterrey ceremony.
“I would like to congratulate you for putting the decision you made to continue with your education into action and today you can see the results. You have the privilege of having received a graduate education. Demonstrate it with ambitious goals and by having an impact on many, many lives,” Garza said.
In Mexico City, Anasofía Sánchez, CEO of Waze in Mexico, served as guest speaker.
“Look out for others and your teams; the best asset you will ever have is people. Never forget how lucky you are and always try to empower the people around you,” Sánchez claimed.
In Monterrey, the guest of honor was María Ariza, CEO of Bolsa Institucional de Valores (Biva).
“Mexico needs leaders with a profound sense of social commitment, who are willing not only to generate value for their companies, but also for society as a whole. I am convinced that there are no people better trained to resolve our challenges than the leaders who are graduating today,” Ariza said.
In the ceremonies, De la Vega congratulated the graduates for their incorporation into the EGADE Business School Alumni community and urged them to play a leading role in bringing about change in Mexico and Latin America.
“I would like to invite you to preserve this sense of purpose in the development of your careers and lives. Today, you have a great opportunity and, above all, responsibility to be the conscious leaders our society needs,” the dean declared.
Andrés Antonio Oconitrillo Muñoz, Master in Finance student, delivered a message on behalf of his generation in Mexico City.
“Enjoy this achievement and let’s use the knowledge acquired with the greatest integrity, to benefit our countries and communities,” he said.
In the same way, Rodrigo Alfredo Morales Fernández Rafaelly, Master in Finance student, shared a few words with his peers in Monterrey.
“Let’s always be upright individuals, with well-defined, unshakeable values and principles, never choosing the quick paths that go against our ethics and morals,” he stated.
With this new generation, EGADE Business School has awarded a total of 8,444 academic degrees to date.
