Leticia Murray, Global Oncology Marketing Director at AstraZeneca, was distinguished with the 2021 EGADE Alumni Achievement Award.
The graduate from the EGADE MBA and Master in Marketing, EGADE Business School, and B.A. in Business Administration, Tecnológico de Monterrey, received her award on June 24 at the 2021 EGADE Alumni Annual Reunion from Joaquín Lozano Aguirre, National Director of Alumni Relations at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
“In these unprecedented times, where health is more important than ever, the role of professionals in leadership positions within the health sector is crucial. Today, the country and the entire world truly need leaders and companies that will generate a positive impact on society, and, precisely today, it gives me great pride to receive this award from the members of the alumni community, characterized by their leadership with a humanistic outlook,” Murray said.
The EGADE Alumni Achievement Award recognizes alumni whose professional activities have had a positive impact on TEC and its community.
Murray has more than 14 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, holding executive positions at the local, regional and global levels in diverse multinational pharmaceutical companies, including Merck, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Novartis.
At AstraZeneca, where she started working in 2018 to lead the Oncology Business Unit and in December 2020 was appointed Global Oncology Marketing Director, Murray has created a strategic resource allocation model, developed a methodology for the correct monitoring of key variables for product launches, and assured appropriate client segmentation and targeting.
Furthermore, from her position in pharmaceuticals, she is transforming continuing medical education in oncology through the telemedicine program OnConnect, focused on providing inter-consultations in real-time through technology tools that facilitate interactions between attending physicians and the leading oncologists in the country at the National Institute of Cancerology.
This initiative has made it possible to benefit more patients, guaranteeing quality diagnoses and treatment, prolonging quality lifetime, while increasing clinical experience with AstraZeneca’s innovative oncological therapies.
Murray received the prize together with Jorge Luis Torres, winner of the 2020 EGADE Alumni Achievement Award, and then they both participated in a panel on leadership within the 2021 EGADE Alumni Annual Reunion.
