By ISABELLA CASTAÑEDA RODRÍGUEZ | EGADE BUSINESS SCHOOL
The 41+1 LGBT+ in Business list by Expansión magazine, published in collaboration with the Alliance for Labor Diversity and Inclusion (ADIL), recognized three EGADE Business School alumni in its 2025 edition.
Each year, the list highlights 42 LGBTQ+ leaders in Mexico who foster inclusive environments and create opportunities both within and outside companies, grounded in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), as they strive to build a better future for the community.
“Representation matters because it normalizes, opens doors, and in many cases, saves lives,” said Ángel Candia, ADIL partner, in the publication.
The EGADE EXATEC alumni featured in the list are:
Iván Domínguez (MBA’19)
Executive Director, Data Analytics & Risk Governance at Scotiabank
EGADE MBA Alum
At Scotiabank Mexico, Iván has led awareness campaigns, created the company’s inclusive communication manual, introduced new policies and a trans inclusion protocol, and developed tools to raise awareness among nearly 10,000 employees. Iván believes that to make a lasting impact, these measures must be integrated into core business objectives.
Miguel Ángel Duvergé (MBA’20)
Vice President of Talent and Culture at Grupo Proeza
EGADE MBA Alum
Miguel Ángel has now appeared twice on this list, recognized for designing and executing the Moments that Matter wellness program, enhancing parental leave policies, launching Metalsa’s (a Proeza subsidiary) first women’s group, and training managers in DEI. He also serves as a panelist and advisor on inclusion for BBVA, disability advocacy through Movimiento Congruencia, and LGBTQI+ rights in Nuevo León via ExploraT.
Cecilia Medina (MBA’17)
IT Director for Digital Business Services Americas at British American Tobacco
EGADE – UNC Charlotte MBA in Global Business & Strategy Alumna
Also a two-time honoree, Cecilia co-founded the LGBT+ employee resource group for BAT Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. She has been deeply involved in developing a company culture that prioritizes diversity as a key pillar. Thanks to her efforts, BAT became one of the first companies to openly participate in a Pride March. She also reviews policies to ensure the company's LGBT+ inclusion.
