Alfredo Ramírez García is the Director of the Master in Finance program at the Santa Fe site of EGADE Business School.

In the professional field, Professor Ramírez has extensive experience as an information technology and data science consultant. His collaborations with various companies across multiple sectors have involved the development of customized data science methodologies tailored to align with each company's unique value generation cycle. He has also significantly contributed to successfully formulating technological architectures to implement data science solutions. These contributions encompass establishing data lakes, selecting third-party AI platforms, and designing APIs, among other essential elements. Professor Ramírez has worked closely with technology companies to design comprehensive service portfolios covering all stages of the data science methodology. This inclusive approach enables these organizations to offer services to a broad range of companies, regardless of their industry, size, or level of AI technology adoption.

Professor Ramírez's research primarily focuses on the electric industry, specifically analyzing spot prices in the Day Ahead Markets (MDA) and Real-Time Markets (MTR). These markets form integral components of the wholesale electricity market (MEM). His research endeavors have involved the development of spot price forecasting models and evaluating European options models, both of which serve as crucial hedging instruments within the MEM. As a faculty member at EGADE Business School, Professor Ramírez imparts his extensive knowledge in courses such as Data Science for Finance, Fintech, and Financial Innovation, among others.

Professor Ramírez is a Ph.D. Candidate in Financial Science at EGADE Business School and holds an Executive MBA (MEDEX) from IPADE Business School.

Tauhidul Islam Tanin

Dr. Tauhidul Tanin is a Professor of Finance in the Department of Finance and Business Economics at EGADE Business School, Tecnológico de Monterrey. He holds a PhD in Finance from Monash University, Australia, and has over 12 years of experience in academia and industry, including roles as a Finance Manager and Research Analyst. His commitment to high-quality research is demonstrated through collaborations with professors from leading universities worldwide. His work has been published in top-tier journals, such as Energy Economics, The British Accounting Review, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, International Review of Financial Analysis, Finance Research Letters, Journal of Cleaner Production, Sustainable Development, Research in International Business and Finance, and International Journal of Emerging Markets. His current research pipeline includes papers under revision and under review, and several working papers targeting leading journals.

Dr. Tanin consistently strives for teaching excellence, as evidenced by his PhD Corporate Finance course score of 9.83/10 in Spring 2024 and his MBA Analytical Foundations for Business (Finance) course score of 8.61/10 in Fall 2023. He achieved High Distinction marks in his PhD coursework, MSc, MBA, and BBA, and received numerous merit-based awards and scholarships, including the Monash Research Merit Scholarship for his PhD and the INCEIF University Full/President's Scholarship for his MSc. His academic excellence also earned him nominations for the Mollie Holman Award (Best Doctoral Researcher) and Vice-Chancellor's Commendation for Thesis Excellence at Monash. His research interests include corporate finance, sustainable finance, climate finance, energy finance, behavioral finance, international finance, investments, financial markets, FinTech, financial analytics, asset pricing, and financial economics.

Dr. Tanin serves as a peer reviewer for 12 leading academic journals as well as for the Strategic Management Latin America 2024 Conference. He is the invited and sole Node Leader for Mexico in the InSPiR2eS Center for Responsible Science (IC4RS), which consists of 74 Node Leaders globally, including only four in North and South America. He serves as an invited Doctoral Thesis Evaluation Panel Member for a PhD candidate in Business Economics at Universidad ICESI in Colombia and as a Foreign Reviewer for PhD theses in Management Sciences (Finance) at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in Pakistan. Additionally, he mentors three individuals: a post-doctoral fellow working on Corporate Governance, Climate Finance, and Sustainability; a PhD candidate in the academic job market, advising on job search and application strategies; and a potential PhD candidate on admissions, scholarships, and career guidance.

Carlos Vargas

Carlos Vargas a finance scholar and researcher who is currently on his way to acquiring his Ph.D. in Banking and Finance on behalf of the University of Zurich.

With more than ten years of experience working with multinational companies, his expertise revolves around topics such as financial analysis, sustainable finance, business planning, renewable energy, and project financing. He has written financial editorials for influential newspapers in Mexico, such as El Financiero and El Economista, and has been invited to teach courses at several universities in Latin America, the United States, and Europe.

Not only is he a part of the faculty at EGADE Business School, but he is also a professor of Sustainable Finance and Impact Investments at the Harvard Extension School.

Dr. del Alto Hernández is the National Director of the Master in Finance Program at EGADE Business School. She specializes in the valuation of companies, corporate finance, financial information analysis and money and capital markets, fields in which she has participated in publications, conferences, and workshops. Her intellectual contributions include co-authorship of the book "Finanzas para todos Desde El Financiero", as well as article “Instrumentos Financieros y la Respuesta de la Profesión Contable”, published in the magazine Consultoría de Negocios of the ICPNL. She was also responsible for the technical review of the book "Para Entender la Bolsa".

In addition to her teaching activities at EGADE Business School, Dr. del Alto serves as Director of Research of the Program Burkenroad Mexico, a program of the University of Tulane, which won a prize at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (USA) as one of the most innovative in education. She has been responsible for the management of the Financial Management Degree Program at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus and has collaborated with consulting firms and companies.

Luis Alfredo Hernández

Professor Hernández Aramburo specializes in consulting in energy, financial innovation, portfolio management, risk management, and corporate funding.

Amongst Professor Hernandez’s professional activities are the leadership of Var Financiero, consulting in risk management, and balance management. He was also the Director of Funding and Risk Management of Global Markets at HSBC Mexico. He served in global banking as a Relationship Executive in Energy. He has served as vice president of structured finance at Citigroup in New York and sub-director of treasury and debt markets at Banamex. In the public sector, he has worked in the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit in the Direction of Financial Planning and the Office of Advisors of the Secretariat of Foreign Relations.

Professor Hernández has performed placements and operations with derived instruments for companies such as Pemex, CFE, Cemex, Banamex, Amovil, DaimlerChrysler, Compartamos, Aeromexico, Ferromex, and different municipalities. Several of these transactions have been acknowledged as deals of the year by the specialized press. 

In addition to his teaching activities at EGADE Business School, Professor Hernández has been a guest researcher at Bundesbank in Germany in Frankfurt.

He is also an Independent Advisor at CFE EPS I, an Independent Advisor Capitalization and Investment Fund of the Rural Sector, CKD EXI2, Chair of the Risk Committee of the Trust for Mining Promotion, and a member of the Board of the International Society for Mexico Energy (ISME).

Professor Serrano Salazar is an expert in consulting and executive education in the areas of family-owned companies, corporate governance, company valuation, and business models. He has specialized in particular in the preparation of family protocol and the design and operation of boards of directors.

His professional experience also includes the development of business models for growth and innovation focused companies. In addition, he has assessed more than one hundred business plans with a range of aims such as securing risk capital or entrepreneurship prizes. José Antonio Núñez

Professor Núñez Mora’s research and teaching focuses on the field of financial risk. As a researcher, he actively participates in the publication of articles in different national and international journals, books, and book chapters.

Professor Núñez Mora is a member of the SNI (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, Level II, Conacyt. He is Director of the EGADE Business School’s  Journal of Administration, Finance, and Economics and he has directed 10 theses in the last five years for students of the Ph.D in Financial Sciences program.

In addition to his teaching activity at EGADE, Professor Núñez has been the Director of the Ph.D. in Management Sciences. He has also carried out consultancy in Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus, in topics related to the macro-economic impact of pension reforms in Mexico.

Iván Adolfo Valdovinos

Dr. Valdovinos Hernández focuses his research efforts and teaching on financial accounting, administrative accounting, administrative control, analysis and interpretation of accounting and financial information systems, evaluation of projects, and corporate finance. He has taught sessions and lectures internationally on these areas in the United States and Italy and has also been a visiting professor at the University of San Diego (USA).

He is a member of several professional associations, such as Arrendamás, where he has served as Chairman of the Audit Committee from 2014. He is also a member of the Commission of Professional Research of the Accountants College of Guadalajara since 2011.

On a corporate level, Dr. Valdovinos has worked as an auditor and consultant in various organizations such as Deloitte & Touche, Vallarta Plus, and Programa de Beneficio Jalisco, where he examined the design and evaluation of the predictive services model.
