In today's business environment, leadership must evolve towards conscious corporate governance that promotes sustainabilitysocial impact, and ethical decision-making.

This was the central theme of episode 192 of Territorio Negocios podcast, hosted by Alicia Galindo, adjunct professor at EGADE Business School, with the participation of Arieh Ruzansky, CEO of Grupo Ruz, and Luis Gerardo González, academic director of the Center for Conscious Enterprises at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

The guests discussed the transformation of traditional organizations into companies with a higher purpose, emphasizing the importance of organizational culture and the evolution of leadership in this process.

“The shift towards a conscious company starts with leadership, but if it is not transmitted throughout the organization and reinforced by culture, nothing happens,” said González.

Drawing from his experience at Grupo RuzRuzansky highlighted the role of corporate governance in creating a culture aligned with strong values. “Culture is not just written down; it must be lived and transformed over time,” he noted.

The experts agreed that a board of directors with a comprehensive vision and diverse perspectives is key to ensuring strategic decisions that benefit all stakeholders.

“Good corporate governance must balance the interests of shareholders, employees, customers, and communities, ensuring that decisions are made ethically, transparently, and sustainably,” explained González.

For organizations seeking to evolve towards a more conscious approachRuzansky emphasized the importance of leading by example. “You cannot write one thing and do another. You must be impeccable in what you do and how you do it,” he concluded.
