Ana María Zermeño Padilla, Director of Academic Experience and Operations at EGADE Business School of Tecnológico de Monterrey, has been reappointed to the Board of Directors of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) following the organization’s most recent elections.

Zermeño Padilla, who has served on the Board since 2023, was reaffirmed to begin her first full term as a member of this governing body, which began its new service period on July 1, 2025.

GMAC is a non-profit organization comprised of the world’s leading graduate business schools. Its mission is to connect future global business leaders with educational opportunities, and its Board of Directors includes representatives from member schools and industry.

Zermeño Padilla’s reappointment was announced on July 17, along with the appointment of Catherine Duggan, Director of the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, as the new Chair of the Board. Also joining as new members were David Bach (IMD, Switzerland), Jake Cohen (MIT Sloan School of Management), and Ian Fenwick (Sasin School of Management, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand).

According to the official statement from GMAC, these appointments come at a crucial moment for the organization as it continues to innovate in response to the rapidly evolving landscape of graduate management education. Earlier this year, GMAC launched Advancery, an AI-powered tool designed to support prospective students along their journey toward business education.

"This is one of the most dynamic and fast-changing times we've seen, with big shifts in talent mobility, technological advancement, and renewed emphasis on skill development reshaping global business education. That's why I'm especially thrilled to welcome these industry leaders from across continents, to join with us in our collective efforts toward realizing our vision—a world where every talented person can benefit from the best business education for them," says Joy Jones, CEO of GMAC. "Their fresh perspectives and insights will strengthen GMAC's work and help us continue contributing to the invaluable development of cross-culturally competent and globally aware business leaders of tomorrow."
