The Class of June 2023 of EGADE Business School in Monterrey, together with the EGADE MBAOnline and Master in Finance Online programs, celebrated the culmination of their graduate studies in a ceremony held at this site.
The graduation ceremony took place on June 24 and was broadcast through the live.tec.mx site and EGADE Business School’s Facebook and LinkedIn accounts.
On this occasion, 152 master’s degrees and 4 doctorates were awarded to graduates from different cities in Mexico, and from another nine countries (China, Colombia, Ecuador, United States, Guatemala, New Zealand, Peru, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela).
Per program, there were 102 graduates from the EGADE MBA and EGADE MBAOnline; 8 from the EGADE – UNC Charlotte MBA in Global Business & Strategy; 41 from the Master in Finance and Master in Finance Online; 1 from the Master in Business Analytics; and 4 from the Ph.D. in Administrative Sciences.
Summa cum laude was awarded to the master’s degree graduates with the highest grade average in their respective programs. This select group was comprised of:
- Samantha Brandi González, EGADE MBA.
- María Guadalupe Menéndez Santillán, EGADE MBAOnline, who also obtained the highest average of her generation.
- Luis Humberto Flores Trejo, EGADE – UNC Charlotte MBA in Global Business & Strategy.
- Jorge Alberto Garza Camacho, Master in Finance.
- Horacio Ramírez Mendoza, Master in Finance Online.
For their part, the doctoral alumna and alumni received an institutional medal in addition to their academic degree:
- Artemio Abrego Carrasco
- Aldahir Caballero Campbell
- Andrea Cantú Garza
- Mario Alberto Tello Bañuelos
The graduation in Monterrey was presided over by Azeneth Ferrero, corporate director of Human Resources at Cemex; Horacio Arredondo, dean of EGADE Business School; Ricardo Úbeda, associate academic dean of EGADE Business School; and Ana María Zermeño, director of Operations and Academic Experience at EGADE Business School.
In her message to the graduates as guest speaker, Ferrero reflected on how their degree represents opportunities, hope, and new chapters in their lives.
Representing her generation, Rhianon Ann Berry, an EGADE MBA graduate, delivered an emotive message highlighting her experience of studying a graduate degree at EGADE Business School and of forming part of its extraordinary community.
“As a New Zealand trade commissioner of Mexico, the tools and contacts this MBA has given me are invaluable for continuing to grow in my professional career. Moreover, by expanding my networking I have been able to forge inspiring friendships that I am sure will last for many years.
“When we decide to embark on the path of a master's degree, our personal motivations can vary enormously. For me, this choice represents the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, a journey that has involved significant sacrifices for both me and my family. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize my fellow graduates and their families for all their hard work and for this incredible achievement we have accomplished together,” Berry said.
Before leading the students in taking the pledge, Arredondo urged the new EGADE alumni and alumnae to be curious, ingenious, and adventurous in order to rise to the challenges they will face.
