Igor Rivera

Dr. Rivera’s key areas of focus in terms of knowledge and research lie in the fields of corporate finance, risk management, business assets and valuation where he works as both a professor and consultant. 

His expertise has led him to collaborate with businesses such as Growmark Inc., Malta Texo de México and Unilever Mexico amongst others. He has also consulted for entities including SHF, Cofemer, Cofetel, and Asigna. 

In parallel to his position as Director of the Master of Finance program at EGADE Business School, Dr. Rivera is responsible for the concentration in Competitive Finance Strategy in the MBA program.

Fernando Moya

Dr. Moya Dávila is an expert in entrepreneurship, innovation, venture capital, finance, investment project valuation, obtaining bank and risk financing, and start-up valuation. He has 25 years’ experience in academia and consulting, the development and implementation of financial strategies for funding high impact and rapid growth start-ups, and building strategic alliances with community and various organizations at a global level. He has also worked with companies as an advisor, as well as in the incorporation of its corporate governance bodies and capital budget policies.

As an entrepreneur, he has created three development centers: a business center featuring an incubator, an accelerator, an investor’s club and company landing; a logistics center offering research services to the ports of Tampico and Altamira; and a plastics center which offers the petrochemical industry, plastic resins research. He also founded the company Productos FB, dedicated to the production and marketing of organic coffee.

At Tecnológico de Monterrey he has held the positions of Program Director, Career Director, Director of Department and Director of international programs at the Tampico campus.

Teófilo Ozuna

Professor Ozuna has been distinguished by his leadership of academic groups in strategic research projects. He has managed several institutional research funds,  both public and private, of organizations such as The Inter-American Development Bank, Texas A&M University, the Department of Agriculture of the United States, the Texas Water Development Board, The Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade, the Department of Commerce of the United States, and the National Water Commission of Mexico, amongst others.

He has developed his teaching and research interest in the areas of economics and finance, where he has served for more than two decades as professor and researcher at Texas A&M University, The University of Texas-Pan American, and various universities in Mexico and Central America, and currently at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Throughout his academic career, he has received several awards and honors, such as an outstanding professor in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers (2004 and 2005) and receiving the Best Paper Award in 2005 IBER (Business) & TLC (Teaching) Conference, Las Vegas (USA). He was distinguished professor of the University of Salamanca (Spain) in 2001 and has received several awards as outstanding professor in UPTA (2003-2004) and Texas A&M University (1991-1992).

He was Associate Dean of Research at EGADE Business School and has served as Dean of the College of Business Administration at The University of Texas-Pan American (USA).

Alejandro Fonseca

Dr. Fonseca Ramirez’s areas of research and teaching comprise finance, international finance, financial modeling, econometrics, and risk management. He has published numerous academic articles on finance and economy in journals such as the Journal of International Management, Accountancy and Management, of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and Stochastics, of the Autonomous Metropolitan University. He has also been recognised for his work on The Great Recession 2007-2012 (La Gran Recesión 2007-2012, IMEF).


Professor Fonsesca Ramirez has worked in several educational institutions, such as the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics and the University of Texas in Austin, where he was an assistant researcher. This was in addition to his distinguished academic career as professor and researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
