Rolando Fuentes

Rolando has experience working for the public sector, where he first held the position of Director of International Negotiations at SENER (Secretaría de Energía) and another executive position as Director of the hydrocarbons division. Regarding his academic achievements, he was a fellow of the London School of Economics (LSE), where he lectured and taught courses in Environmental Economics and Environmental Policy, while he also supervised master’s dissertations. In addition to that, he has also been a research fellow of the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies, the IHS CERA, and the Center for Strategic Studies at Tecnológico de Monterrey. His research mainly focuses on new business models in the energy sector, innovation, and energy policy.

Before joining the EGADE faculty, he was a Research Fellow II for the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), an institution based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia which is focused on researching global energy economics.

Rolando has a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), an M.Sc. in Environmental and Resource Economics by the University College London, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics by the Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Jorge Arturo Martínez

Jorge Martinez’s expertise and teaching are focused around fields including financial engineering, byproducts, financial economy, and international economy. Over the course of his career, he has been a speaker at more than 300 seminars in South America, Mexico, the United States, and Europe. He is the author of more than 30 academic publications in international journals and a series of working papers. He is also an editor of El Norte writing the monthly column “Riesgo y Valor” (Risk and Value).

In the corporate field, Dr. Martínez serves as an independent advisor of Banco del Bajio and Afore Afirme Bajio. Previously, he served as Director of Integral Risk Management, Legal and Quality in Banorte-Generali, Financial Group Banorte, and also as head economist in Cemex Latam. Dr. Martínez is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and President of the CFA Monterrey chapter. 

He has distinguished himself at an international level in the academic field as instructor in the New York Institute of Finance, the Chilean Adolfo Ibañez University in Miami and as guest professor at Baylor University, University of Texas at Austin (USA), École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (France), Universidad EAFIT in Madrid and Colombia. He has been invited several times to take part in the CNN Money Miami and New York tv program. 

Jorge is partner and founder of the advisory company MG-RISK Counseling Associates since 1998, providing services to more than 40 companies in Mexico and abroad around the themes of investment banking, statistical studies, economy, and finance.
