Rolando Fuentes

RESEARCH PROFESSOR OF ECONOMICS AND FINANCE

Rolando has experience working for the public sector, where he first held the position of Director of International Negotiations at SENER (Secretaría de Energía) and another executive position as Director of the hydrocarbons division. Regarding his academic achievements, he was a fellow of the London School of Economics (LSE), where he lectured and taught courses in Environmental Economics and Environmental Policy, while he also supervised master’s dissertations. In addition to that, he has also been a research fellow of the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies, the IHS CERA, and the Center for Strategic Studies at Tecnológico de Monterrey. His research mainly focuses on new business models in the energy sector, innovation, and energy policy. Before joining the EGADE faculty, he was a Research Fellow II for the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), an institution based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia which is focused on researching global energy economics.

Professor of Finance at EGADE Business School

Samuel Mongrut holds a Ph.D in Finance from Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), a Master in Economics from Maastricht University (Netherlands) and a bachelor degree from Universidad del Pacifico (Peru). He studied Quantitative Economics at the Netherlands Network of Quantitative Economics (NAKE) and he has participated in research projects at the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) from the University of Chicago (United States). Currently, he is professor of finance at the EGADE Business School from the Tecnologico de Monterrey and associated researcher at the Universidad del Pacifico (Peru). Professor Mongrut has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Cerrajes Group in Mexico, member of the Economic Committee of the National Confederation of Private Institutions and Companies in Peru (CONFIEP), associated consultant at Ernst and Young (EY, Peru) and Chairman at the Environmental Management Accounting and Sustainability Network (EMAN) Chapter Americas. He has been visiting professor at several universities in more than 15 countries including Toulouse Business School (France and Spain), Kedge Business School (France), Universidad Federico Santa Maria (Chile), International Business School from Vilnius University (Lithuania), Universidad ICESI (Colombia), Universidad EAFIT (Colombia), Universidad Ana G. Mendez (Puerto Rico), among others. Professor Mongrut has published more than 100 articles in the financial press and academic journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Emerging Markets Review, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, among others. His work had received several academic prizes from the Mexican Stock Exchange, the International Finance Conference, CLADEA, and others.

Research Professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at EGADE Business School

Sascha is Research Professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation with EGADE Business School at Tecnologico de Monterrey. He holds an affiliation as researcher in international entrepreneurship with Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku in Finland. In addition, he is a visiting lecturer at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen in Germany teaching business in the context of Latin America. He received a PhD degree with distinction in International Business from University of Turku and a Master degree in Business and Engineering from Technische Universität Kaiserslautern in Germany. His research interest is focused on the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, and international business.

Sebastián García Ruiz Velazco is Associate Vice President for the NAM and LATAM regions in Global Product Control Finance at Ciitbanamex, performing financial transformation processes. He has more than 5 years of experience from a consulting perspective focused on the interpretation and analysis of financial statements, projects of mergers, acquisitions and diverstitures, carrying out due diligence reports, development of business strategies, capital markets: IPO readiness, accounting advice IFRS-US GAAP, structuring of sustainable projects from a development banking approach promoting the financing of renewable energy projects.

Sergio Madero studied PhD in Universidad de Deusto, San Sebastián, Spain, Master in Organization Development and MBA, Bachelors in Information Systems Tecnologico de Monterrey. Currently is working as a full time research professor in Management Academic Department at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. is a Full time Professor at the School of Business in Tecnologico de Monterrey, México. Sergio Madero’s research interests focus on the areas of HRM, Workplace environment, Attract and Retain talent (e.g. compensation management, career and first experience job). Current research agenda focuses on the innovative HRM, automation in HRM.

Sidney Ornelas is a PhD in Management Sciences student at ITESM. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing, a Master in Communications and a Master in Innovation for Enterprise Development, all three also at ITESM. She has professional experience working for retail and service companies performing and leading several marketing activities that include market research, brand strategies and advertising and promotional activities. She has also been a professor at undergraduate level for 7 years, teaching subjects such as market research, product development strategies, service marketing, relationship marketing and international marketing, among others.

Dr. Tauhidul Tanin is a Professor in the Department of Finance and Business Economics at EGADE Business School. With an extensive background encompassing over 12 years of experience in academia and industry, he has served as a Research Consultant and Finance Manager, solidifying his expertise in the field. He is deeply committed to interdisciplinary research and has collaborated with professors from over 27 top universities worldwide. His scholarly contributions have been published in highly-ranked journals, including the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Energy Economics, Finance Research Letters, International Review of Financial Analysis, Sustainable Development, and the International Journal of Emerging Markets.

Tomás Cortés is a human resources executive with more than fourteen years of experience working for multinational and national leading companies. He is responsible for the strategy and operations of a HR center of excellence/shared services, managing talent acquisition, total rewards and payroll functions. He established and maintained a customer-oriented culture building digital human resources transformation through agile methodologies and change management. Tomás has a bachelor degree in Management from University of Guadalajara and holds and MBA by EGADE Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey, and two executive programs: one by Yale University “Innovation and Value Creation”, and another by Boston University “Entrepreneurial Marketing and Finance”. He currently advices startups and corporations to re-design their human resources areas. He teaches conscious business design, shared value, strategy and talent, multigenerational Leadership and human capital strategy dimension subjects at Tec de Monterrey, campus Monterrey. Tomás loves the holistic thinking and he tries to have balance as a human being to create a high leadership impact in the different roles of his life.
