Project Goal To transform the current traditional economic models based on single-use plastic into a sustainable system composed of multiple business models that use plastic “waste” as an input and transform them into valuable goods.
Led by SWIT Research Group of EGADE Business School, a private Company, Universidad Catolica de Chile, and the IDB
Country and Region of implementation of this project/initiative Latin America with an emphasis in the central region of Mexico and the Pacific rim countries (LAC).
United Nation SDGs covered in this project/initiative SDG#8: The model will create decent Work and Economic Growth, for industry and recyclers.
SDG#9: The model will also generate a sustainable, and competitive business model for the plastics industry, and the creation of multiple entrepreneurships on each area.
SDG#10: The design of the model is aimed to reduce the social gap that currently exists between recyclers in LACs.
