United Nation SDGs covered in this project/initiative | SDG# 8: Decent work and Economic growth. The project aims to offer job opportunities aligned to the preservation of natural resources in the region. By promoting the substitution of unsustainable extractive intensive jobs with economically viable alternatives, productive and decent work is ensured. SDG# 9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure. The project promotes sustainable and inclusive industrialization by considering a new economic model for the region that aims to avoid the depletion and contamination of natural resources. SDG# 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. The project will result in an alternative economic and social development model for the region that ensures the preservation of natural resources. The main goal of this project has been to create a new economy for the town, to substitute unsustainable jobs and eliminate the natural deterioration created by a local quarry and other depredators of the natural reserve of Sierra Picacho. |
