Circular SMEs and rural development

The SWIT also focuses on creating the enabling conditions for regions to thrive socially, economically and environmentally through fostering the creation of local entrepreneurship based on systemic thinking, circular economy, and industrial ecology principles. This axis of the SWIT has been applied to rural communities such as the village of Higueras in Northern Mexico.
