Research Professor of the Department of Strategy and Leadership
Milton Sousa has a solid international academic background and experience in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Before joining EGADE, he was an Affiliate Professor at emlyon Business School (France). He also served as Vice-Rector of Research and Full Professor at the University of Fortaleza (Brazil), where he led the formulation of institutional strategies for research, new academic collaborations, and innovation policies. His research focus is on business strategy and sustainability, including topics such as corporate social responsibility and ESG governance, as well as social entrepreneurship and its intentions, with special attention to the context of emerging economies in Latin America. He participated in the team of Chief Scientists at the Ceará Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development (FUNCAP), within the Economic Innovation Clusters Program promoted by the Secretariat of Economic Development of the State of Ceará, Brazil. In the business sector, he was a partner and co-founder of Wave Acceleradora, an initiative to promote innovative early-stage entrepreneurship.
He holds a PhD in Business Administration from FGV-EAESP (Brazil), with a research stay at HEC Montréal (Canada), and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at EGADE Business School. He is a graduate of the Microeconomics of Competitiveness (MOC) program at Harvard Business School (United States). He also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Pernambuco and a Bachelor's degree in Administration from the Federal University of Ceará (both in Brazil).
