Biography

Claudia Patricia Alvarez Barrera is a Research Professor in the Department of Strategy and Leadership at EGADE Business School of Tecnológico de Monterrey. With over 20 years of experience, she has developed a solid track record in teaching, research, academic management, and consulting. She is a senior researcher at Colciencias and has been a professor and researcher at institutions such as EAFIT University and the University of Medellín, where she also served as Vice-Rector for Administration and Finance and Director of the PhD in Administration. Her academic work has been published in high-impact international journals such as Small Business Economics, International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, Entrepreneurship & Regional Development, European Business Review, Management Decision, and Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, among others. She currently serves on the Editorial Review Board of the International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal. She has collaborated on research projects with the Autonomous University of Barcelona and ESADE Business & Law Schools (Spain), and since 2013, has coordinated the GUESSS Colombia project. His research interests include digital transformation in organizations and sectors, the use of data science in the study of entrepreneurship and innovation, the economics of innovation, and science, technology, and innovation policy. In the consulting field, he has led digital transformation and Industry 4.0 projects, highlighting initiatives in process orchestration and hyperautomation for the financial sector, electronic labeling for retail, and smart manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry. He has also advised various organizations on strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems.
