Luis Ángel Plata Cavazos, who graduated from the Specialization in Energy Management at EGADE Business School, was recognized as one of the winners of the 2020-2021 National Youth Award of the Mexican Youth Institute (Imjuve).

The 27-year-old from Allende, Nuevo León, was one of the 19 young people distinguished in this edition for his contributions to society and to mitigating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

This award consists of 10 distinctions in two categories: A, which contemplates young people between 13 and 17 years old; and B, which recognizes 18-to-29 year-olds.

Plata Cavazos won an Entrepreneurial Engineer award in the B category.

"I developed my ability to solve problems from a broader perspective at EGADE; I learned to think more disruptively and raised my expectations and level of discipline,” he stated in an interview with CONECTA.

The EGADE alumnus graduated from UANL as an engineer and is a founding partner of Girasolve Energy, a company engaged in implementing solar energy projects.

"My focus is on strategic planning. I am interested in assuring significant savings for our customers, building projects that generate 100% clean energy and reducing CO2 emissions into our atmosphere," commented.

The National Youth Award winners received a pure gold medal, a rosette, 100 thousand pesos in commercial commission and bond custody and administration contracts (Codes), and a diploma signed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The prize-giving ceremony was held on December 20, 2021.

Plata Cavazos was also distinguished with the Ceneval Award for Excellence in Academic Performance in 2016 and the 2019 Nuevo León State Youth Prize.
