What if artificial intelligence didn’t just automate tasks, but also helped us make better decisions, lead ethically, and connect more deeply with what makes us human? With this premise, the eleventh season of Territorio Negocios, the podcast from EGADE Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey, kicks off with a special episode that compiles key moments from four past conversations to provide a comprehensive view of AI’s transformative role in business.

Hosted by Eva Guerra, Associate Dean of Academics at EGADE Business School, episode 210 — titled "Artificial Intelligence: AI with a Human Purpose" — explores the evolution of AI from its most practical applications to its ethical, humanistic, and social dimensions, through the voices of eight expert guests.

From productivity powered by intelligent agents to the need for values-based leadership in tech-driven environments, the episode is structured around four major themes:

INTELLIGENT AGENTS BEYOND GENERATIVE AI

In episode 196, "AI Agents: Your New Coworkers", Diego Halffter, Partner at Brain Food, and Alejandro Correa, researcher at the Center for Digital Evolution at Tecnológico de Monterrey, explain how AI agents don’t just respond—they learn, make autonomous decisions, and transform how we work. Halffter notes that more than 50% of routine tasks could be automated by 2030, while Correa shares real-world cases where these agents have dramatically increased productivity without the need for large teams.

ETHICS AND LEADERSHIP WITH CLEAN DATA

In episode 198, "Artificial Intelligence: Fad or Necessity?", Juan Carlos Bustamante, National Director of the Master in Marketing at EGADE Business School, and Blanca Ramos, CEO of Roomie, emphasize that ethics doesn’t lie in the technology itself, but in the leaders who implement it. They warn about algorithmic bias when input data fails to reflect real-world diversity, and they call for responsible management grounded in clear, controlled strategies.

INDUSTRY 5.0: EFFICIENCY WITH A HUMAN FACE

Episode 202, "Smart Factories: From Industry 4.0 to 5.0", shows how the convergence of technology and people is redefining manufacturing. Alejandro Fuentes, Director of Digitalization at Prolec Energy, shares examples of collaborative robots that not only improve productivity but also enhance working conditions. Isaac Lemus, Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation at EGADE Business School, outlines four pillars of this new industrial era: human focus, sustainability, resilience, and personalization.

TECHNOLOGY WITH A HUMANISTIC VISION

Finally, episode 206, "Can AI Be More Human?", closes the reflection with a more philosophical take. Enrique Tamés, Professor in the Department of Strategy and Leadership at EGADE Business School, underscores the need to balance culture and technology, while Cristina Martínez, founder of PIT Policy Lab, highlights initiatives that bring the humanities back into digital spaces—such as UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of AI.

In this way, Territorio Negocios launches a new season by reaffirming its mission: to rethink the future of business from critical, innovative, and human-centered perspectives.
