EGADE Business School held the kickoff session for the Strategic Consulting Projects (Capstone Projects) of the EGADE Full-Time MBA, an applied learning initiative in which students collaborate directly with companies to address real strategic challenges under a consulting-style approach.
During the kickoff session, held on March 20 at the EGADE campus in Monterrey, student teams presented their proposals to participating companies. They aligned on the work plan they will implement over the coming months, with support from academic mentors and the school’s Career Hub.
The session was hosted by Jatinder Jit Singh, Director of the EGADE Full-Time MBA, and Cecilia Terán, Director of the Career Hub at EGADE Business School, along with faculty members who will mentor the projects from April through August.
This edition includes organizations such as Xignux, Clarios, Viva, OXXO, and John Deere, with initiatives focused on innovation, market expansion, and business development, to be carried out over two academic terms with executive deliverables and a final presentation of results.
Unlike other academic engagement formats, this experience requires students to operate as consulting teams, developing structured analysis and actionable recommendations that deliver value to the organizations while strengthening their skills in strategy, analytics, finance, leadership, and decision-making.
As part of the process, teams were formed to ensure a balanced mix of backgrounds, experience, and skills, replicating real consulting team dynamics.
“This is a cohort with a very powerful combination: strategic thinking, analytical capability, and leadership. This allows us not only to form balanced teams, but also to drive projects with depth, collaboration, and a strong results-oriented mindset,” said Terán.
The projects are conducted under the supervision of EGADE Business School faculty, who guide the teams to ensure analytical rigor, feasibility of the proposals, and the strategic relevance of the recommendations delivered to the companies.
For participating organizations, this collaboration offers an opportunity to advance strategic initiatives with the support of EGADE Full-Time MBA talent, gaining recommendations grounded in rigorous analysis and an external perspective focused on results.
This type of initiative shows EGADE Business School’s focus on applied learning and its strong connection with the business community, preparing students to analyze, propose, and implement solutions in real business contexts.
