Horacio Arredondo, dean of EGADE Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey, has been invited to join the International Academic Council (IAC) of Deusto Business School in Spain.
Macarena Cuenca, dean of Deusto Business School, extended the invitation. The appointment is for an initial two-year term, from September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2028.
As a member of the Council, Arredondo will contribute his experience to strategic discussions on the development of the Spanish business school, particularly on the evolution of business education, internationalization, and engagement with the business community.
“This is an opportunity to exchange perspectives with colleagues from other business schools and to contribute, drawing on the experience of EGADE Business School and Latin America, to conversations about the challenges facing business education today. These spaces allow us to learn from one another and explore new avenues for international collaboration,” Arredondo said.
A global perspective on business education
The International Academic Council is a permanent committee within the Deusto Business School Advisory Board and brings together, among other members, international academic leaders with experience in business school management.
Its purpose is to provide a global perspective that contributes to Deusto Business School’s institutional strategy and to foster ongoing dialogue with other leading business schools, strengthening international collaboration and contributing to discussions on the future of business education.
The areas in which the IAC provides guidance include international academic partnerships, accreditation and quality assurance, educational innovation, new program development, global positioning, and engagement with international companies and organizations.
Arredondo’s participation will bring to these conversations the perspective he has gained leading EGADE Business School, as well as the experience of a Latin American business school with an international reach.
