An educational innovation project by EGADE Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey has been shortlisted in the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2026, which celebrate disruptive thinking that is transforming business education across member schools of the AMBA & BGA global network.
This year’s edition includes 13 award categories. EGADE was shortlisted in the Best Innovation Strategy category with the project “Immersive gamification and the use of video games for business learning in graduate education”, a proposal that pushes the learning experience beyond traditional simulators.
The Best Innovation Strategy award honors business schools that drive creative practices in teaching, learning, recruitment, and alumni engagement, challenging conventional models.
EGADE’s project integrates game-based activities and commercial video games into both in-person and online classes, aiming to foster transversal skills such as leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, and emotional self-regulation in high-pressure environments.
“We’ve integrated academic experiences like escape rooms, game boards, and video games such as Overcooked and Minecraft to help students build key skills,” said Eloísa Pérez, Director of Educational Innovation at EGADE. “These experiences are now embedded in several academic programs at the school.”
This pedagogical approach reflects EGADE’s institutional focus on applied learning and transformative leadership, turning academic content into memorable experiences that prepare students to make a positive impact in society.
The project brings together EGADE Business School faculty members Isaac Lemus, Jairo Orozco, Jorge Velarde, Rolando Fuentes, Luciana Manfredi, Federico Trigos, Claudia Quintanilla, Claudia Ramos, Mario Saldaña, Eric Porras, Daniel Sierra, Lucila Osorio, and Ricardo Buitrago.
It also includes members of the Educational Innovation and Digital Education team: Eloísa Pérez, Omar Velasco, Mili Gómez, Ulises Rodríguez, and Adrián Garza.
The winners will be announced on January 23, 2026, during the AMBA & BGA Gala Dinner in London, United Kingdom.
With this shortlisting, EGADE Business School reaffirms its leadership in educational innovation and its commitment to developing business leaders equipped with creative, technological, and transformative tools to meet the challenges of an ever-changing global environment.
