His passion for merging technology and medicine led Yoku Sashida to co-found and become CEO of Soluciones Kenko, a Mexican company focused on developing devices that improve healthcare and patient monitoring.
His work earned him recognition among Forbes Mexico’s 30 Business Promises of 2020 for creating ECGlove, a glove capable of recording the heart’s electrical activity simply by touching the patient’s chest, raising the likelihood of an accurate diagnosis from 2% to 45% during a general consultation.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sashida led Soluciones Kenko in producing Hope’s Mask, 3D-printed masks designed to protect and bring hope to healthcare professionals on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis.
“We saw such a huge problem that, from the beginning, our approach was simply to act with what we had,” explained the entrepreneur in an interview with EGADE.
Yoku began his academic journey studying Biomedical Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey and later pursued an MBA at EGADE Business School, which has guided him in decision-making within his company.
“For instance, we needed to recruit talent, and I was able to apply what I learned in the Executive Competencies course. Later, when we started sales, I relied on lessons from Marketing Strategies as well,” he mentioned.
Yoku’s trajectory exemplifies the spirit of EGADE Business School—developing leaders with a global vision, a sense of purpose-driven entrepreneurship, and the capacity to create change in complex contexts. His story illustrates how technological innovation can have both social and business impact.
