Javier Arroyo Chávez (MA’82) is Executive Chairman of the Board of Corporativo Fragua, the parent company of Farmacia Guadalajara and other subsidiaries. He is a graduate of the Master in Administration (MA) from EGADE Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Javier’s story is deeply tied to the origins of Farmacia Guadalajara. Founded in 1942 by his father, Don Ignacio Arroyo Chavarría, the company was born from a vision to offer affordable, high-quality medicines and contribute to community well-being. From an early age, Javier became involved in the family business, absorbing the values that have defined the company for generations.

In 1989, the company took a strategic step by creating the "SúperFarmacia" concept. Eight years later, in 1997, it began trading on the Mexican Stock Exchange under the name Fragua, and in 2003, Javier Arroyo Chávez became Chairman of the Board.

Under his leadership, the company has experienced exponential growth, becoming Mexico’s leading pharmacy chain in terms of sales volume and national presence.

Beyond his role as a businessman, Javier has actively participated in initiatives aimed at boosting Mexico’s economic development, creating jobs, and enhancing the quality of life. His comprehensive vision has also driven him to promote responsible and sustainable practices in supply chain and operational management.

He has been repeatedly recognized in rankings such as Mexico’s Top 100 Business Leaders by Expansión and The 300 Most Influential Leaders in Mexico by Líderes Mexicanos magazine.

Javier’s track record at the head of Corporativo Fragua positions him as a key figure in Mexico’s pharmaceutical sector. His legacy goes beyond business: it is a testament to the power of vision, perseverance, and commitment to Mexico. As a member of the EXATEC EGADE community, his story inspires new generations of leaders committed to transforming their environment through business.
